INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER AUTHORS
Language and alphabet
Papers are submitted in Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian (in Latin or Cyrillic script) or in English.
A review
Each paper will be sent for review, and after the reviewer’s evaluation, it may eventually be returned to the author with a reasoned request for correction or addition if it is deemed necessary. Only works that receive two positive anonymous reviews will be included in the final program of the Congress.
Publication
All papers that will be included in the final program of the Congress will be published in the Proceedings in electronic form. The basic condition for the publication of a paper is that it has not been previously published, nor is it in the peer review process at a scientific or professional journal. The publisher also reserves the right to publish accepted works on the website.
The form and technical processing of the work
Papers are submitted exclusively in electronic form and should be created in Microsoft Word or a similar word processing program that supports the .doc or .docx format. and must be previously proofread. The scientific committee reserves the right to make additional proofreading corrections if necessary. Submitted scientific and professional papers should not exceed 10,000 words in length, including all parts of the paper. Exceptionally, the Scientific Committee can also approve works with a length exceeding the stated number of words, if it judges that the work is significant for the development of medical law. Each author must submit a statement that the paper is his own work and that it has not been previously published, nor will it be offered to any scientific or professional journal for publication. Without these elements, the paper will not be accepted or published.
Papers are written using the Times New Roman font, size 12 pt (except for the text in footnotes, which should be 10 pt), in regular spacing, on pages of standard size (A4), all margins 2.5 cm. The header of the paper should include information about the author or authors (name(s) and surname(s), titles and name of the institution where the author(s) is employed, e-mail address).
The paper should contain an introduction, the main part of the paper, a conclusion and a list of used literature. Each paper must contain an abstract of 150-200 words and three to five key words in one of the official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in English of the same length. Footnotes are written in Arabic numerals and are entered continuously from number 1 onwards.
References/sources are cited in footnotes according to the following model:
- For books, the first letter of the name and surname of the author written in ordinary letters, the title of the book written in italics, the place and year of publication and the number of the cited page are indicated. If there are two authors, both are mentioned, and if there are three or more authors, only the first author is mentioned and the abbreviation “et al.” is added.
For example S. Bodnaruk et al., Comments on Health Laws, Sarajevo, 2011, p. 350.
- For works from magazines or anthologies, the following must be stated: the first letter of the author’s name and surname written in plain letters, the title of the work written in italics, the title of the publication in which the work was published written in plain letters, the place and year of publication and the journal number. The first and last pages of the cited work are entered in parentheses, and then, after the closed parenthesis, the page number on which the relevant citation is found.
For example J. Omejec, Prohibition of discrimination in the practice of the European Court of Human Rights, Proceedings of the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, 2009, No. 59 (5), p. (873-979) 880.
When the same work is cited again, only the last name of the author is entered, then the number of the footnote in which the work is mentioned for the first time is entered in parentheses, and finally the number of the cited page.
For example Bodnaruk (fn. 3), p. 89.
If the same work is already referred to in the next footnote, enter Ibid and the page number.
For example
- S. Bodnaruk et al., Comments on Health Laws, Sarajevo, 2011, p. 350.
- Ibid, p. 359.
- Laws will be cited in full, then the abbreviated name of the newspaper in which it was published is entered in italics. Titles of laws and names of official gazettes are not placed under quotations or in brackets.
For example Article 25, paragraph 18 of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination, Sl. Ch. BiH 59/09, 66/16.
- Internet links are entered in footnotes as follows:
World Health Organization, The ICD-10 Classification of Mental and Behavioral Disorders, Clinical descriptions and diagnostic guidelines, available at: http://www.who.int/classifications/icd/en/bluebook.pdf (access: 19.07.2022 ).
- In the list of used literature, data is entered in the same way as in the footnotes, with the fact that the order is arranged alphabetically, according to the first letter of the last name of the (first) author.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS OF POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Poster presentations should consist of the following parts:
- Title. It is necessary to briefly and clearly present the topic, approach and research methods
[maximum length: 1-2 lines].
- Introduction. It is desirable to interest viewers in the subject of research using a minimum of background information and definitions. The subject of the research should be placed in the context of previous knowledge published in the existing literature. It is necessary to describe and explain why the topic was chosen for research
[maximum length: approximately 200 words].
- Research methods. Briefly describe the hypothesis and scientific methods used in the research. It is possible to use tables and graphs to present the methodology and describe the research procedure
[maximum length: approximately 200 words].
- Results. Briefly present the qualitative and descriptive results of the research, present the data analysis, refer to accompanying images, graphs and tables (pay attention to the size and attractiveness of the legends that describe them)
[maximum length: approximately 200 words].
- Conclusion. Remind viewers of the hypothesis and research results, and determine whether the hypothesis has been confirmed. Discuss why the result is convincing and interesting. Highlight the importance of the research in relation to other published works and the further direction of the research
[maximum length: approximately 300 words].
- Literary references. Follow the standard format if specified or use the one in the paper
[maximum length: approximately 10 citations].
Format the title of the poster in small letters (Sentence case). Do not use capital initial letters (English Title Case) or all capital letters (English ALL CAPS).
Visibly write who the authors of the poster are. Write the names and surnames of all authors and information about their current employment.
Use a sans serif font (e.g. Arial) for headings and paragraph names and a sans serif font (e.g. Times New Roman) for the text.
Do not use too many different sizes and types of fonts in the poster, that is, do not use different sizes and types of fonts for each paragraph, title, chart, table, etc.
Organize the poster into rows and arrange the content so that the tracking takes place vertically from top to bottom, from left to right.
Mark parts with numbers (e.g. 1, 2, 3, …) so that the reading sequence is clear to everyone.
Use italic font instead of underline font.
When using abbreviations and numbers (eg ATD, 123) within the body of the text, reduce the font size by a few points so that their size does not dominate the text written in small letters.
